Isabelle Taen

TU Delft, Master of Science, European Wind Energy Master – Offshore Engineering
Engineer
Isabelle Taen is an engineer in the Marine team at TWD, where she works on offshore wind energy projects worldwide. During her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at TU Delft, she discovered her interest for hydrodynamics and sustainable energy solutions. This led her to pursue the European Wind Energy Master (EWEM), specializing in Offshore Engineering, which allowed her to study at technical universities across Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Along the way, she engaged with the industry as a student reporter at the WindEurope conference in Copenhagen. Isabelle first joined TWD through her master’s thesis in the Innovation team and later became part of the Marine team as a full-time engineer. She is motivated by the dynamic and innovative nature of the offshore wind industry, the opportunity to collaborate with international clients, and the chance to continuously learn and grow. Outside of work, Isabelle likes travelling, meeting new people, going to concerts, snowboarding, horse riding, and cooking.

Irina Spinu

Technical Lead
Technical University of Cluj Napoca, Master's Degree in Advanced Procedures in Environmental Engineering
Irina Spinu is an Environmental Engineer with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, where she blended process and mechanical engineering but always gravitated toward the mechanical side. Early in her career, she designed agricultural machinery in Romania while completing her master’s studies in the evenings. An internship in the Netherlands with a company developing innovative industrial wastewater treatment solutions marked a turning point, eventually leading her to relocate for a full-time role.
Her passion for the energy transition grew after joining TWD Engineering, where she moved into offshore wind and discovered her talent for designing smart temporary structures. Now a Technical Lead at TWD, she finds great fulfillment in mentoring younger engineers.
Outside her engineering career, Irina is an avid dancer and a dedicated upcycler. She restores and reimagines special vintage clothing and bags, selling them at pop-up events around Rotterdam. Through her small shop, she aims to show that old garments can become modern, high-quality wardrobe staples—without ever looking outdated or carrying the stereotypes often associated with vintage fashion.

Robin van der Vaart

Lead Engineer
TU Delft, Master of Science, Civil Engineering – Structural Engineering
Robin van der Vaart studied Civil Engineering for both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
After completing her studies, she sought a dynamic, creative, and technical environment and found the perfect match at TWD in the offshore wind industry. She started her career there as an Engineer and quickly gained the opportunity to take on project management responsibilities and client communication, developing into a Project Engineer.
Robin has too many hobbies to count, as there is always something creative to explore and new interests to add to the list. She enjoys working with people, supporting their growth, and contributing to exciting engineering challenges—something she fulfils in her current role as Lead Engineer alongside her team. Creating a fun and stimulating environment where everyone can grow is important to her.
When she began her journey at TWD five years ago, she could not have imagined where she would be today. She looks forward to helping others with their own journey and discovering what drives them.
