Librae Network is a Netherlands-based non-profit community dedicated to fostering gender equality in STEM by empowering Women+ students and young professionals through mentorship, networking events, and career development opportunities. We connect participants with inspiring role models, industry partners, and peers to build confidence, expand professional networks, and support successful transitions into STEM careers.

Our Core Events

  1. Mentorship Program (2x per year): mentor matching, guided growth, and community moments throughout the program.

  2. Networking Dinners (2x per year): personal career stories and rotating table conversations with role models.

  3. Rewrite HERstory Conference (1x per year): a full-day event with interactive sessions around a central theme, focused on identity, ambition, confidence and career direction, including lunch and a Career Orientation Market.

Are you a fit?

General Expectations (Applicable to All Board Roles)

Commitment

Librae is a volunteer-led organization, but all board roles come with significant operational responsibility and ownership. We are therefore looking for people who are not only enthusiastic about the mission of Librae, but are also willing to actively contribute to the organization and execution of our events and programs.

Board members will be registered at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) as official directors of the organization and share responsibility for its governance and operations. Appropriate insurance is in place to support board members in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Expected average commitment:

  • approximately ±16 hours/week - preferably 4 half days spread over the week.

  • workload fluctuates throughout the year depending on event timelines and deadlines

What Is Expected From Board Members?

We are looking for people who:

  • communicate proactively

  • follow up on responsibilities reliably

  • are organized and structured

  • ask for help when needed

  • contribute positively to the team

  • are open to feedback and collaboration

Because Librae’s teams work closely together, clear communication and ownership are essential.

Meetings & Availability

All board members are expected to:

  • attend 2 in-person meetings/work sessions per month - most probably in Delft but your team can decide

  • attend 2 online meetings per month

  • actively communicate through Slack and WhatsApp

  • regularly update tasks and progress in Slack and Notion

  • attend Librae events and partner hosted events approximately 1-2x per month (afternoon/evening)

Chair

The Chair oversees the operational continuity and financial health of Librae. This role combines strategic overview, operational coordination and financial management.

You ensure that projects stay on track, communication between teams functions smoothly, and organizational risks are identified early.

Main Responsibilities

  • overseeing the operational planning of Librae

  • preparing yearly timelines and budgets

  • monitoring progress across all teams

  • identifying bottlenecks and operational risks

  • structuring meetings and maintaining overview

  • managing financial administration and reimbursements

  • tracking invoices, payments and budgets

  • filing quarterly taxes

  • coordinating with the Advisory Board

Events Manager

The Events board member manages Librae’s events and programmes from concept to execution. This includes the Mentorship Programs, Networking Dinners and Conference.

You are responsible for ensuring that events run smoothly, timelines are realistic and participants have a meaningful experience.

  • coordinating venues and logistics

  • managing registrations and operational workflows

  • coordinating speakers, mentors and role models

  • managing the Mentorship Programs

  • organising opening/closing events and networking moments

  • collecting and evaluating event feedback

  • identifying operational risks and bottlenecks

Partnerships Manager

The Partnerships board member manages Librae’s collaborations and sponsor relationships. This includes acquiring new partners, maintaining existing relationships and connecting partners to Librae events and programs.

The Partnerships Manager is required to be fluent in Dutch.

  • identifying potential partners and sponsors

  • conducting outreach through LinkedIn and email

  • scheduling and leading introduction meetings

  • presenting Librae to organisations

  • negotiating collaborations and sponsorships

  • maintaining relationships with existing partners

  • coordinating partner involvement in events

  • managing contracts, invoices and renewals

Content Manager

The Content board member manages Librae’s visual communication and online presence.

This role focuses on social media, graphic design, storytelling and website management.

Main Responsibilities

  • creating promotional materials and graphics in Canva

  • managing Librae’s social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn)

  • creating event-related visuals and booklets

  • planning promotional timelines

  • maintaining the website and event pages in SquareSpace

  • coordinating promotion together with Events and Outreach

  • supporting partner visibility

The Outreach & Community board member focuses on growing Librae’s reach and strengthening the community. This role combines outreach, community building and relationship management.

  • maintaining outreach databases and contacts

  • promoting Librae events externally

  • building relationships with career/diversity organizations

  • coordinating ambassadors and volunteers

  • setting up small community engagement initiatives

  • identifying new participant groups

  • strengthening Librae’s visibility and network

  • keep community involved with updates via newsletter

  • disseminate promo material via WhatsApp Channels

Not ready for a full board role, but want to help?

We also have flexible Outreach & Visibility Teams with lighter commitment

  • Ambassador: help promote events on your campus and share content (1 hour per week max.)

  • Event Committee: related to a specific event. Help prior to events with outreach to role models and participants, venue hunt and help during events with set-up, check-in, guiding role models, practical support. (Depending on the event 2-4 hours a week during 2-3 months.)

  • Community Committee: help organize small scale Librae Community Events. Drinks, Paint and Sip, Runs, Lunch lectures, etc.
